Who Do You Say That I Am?

What is your relationship with Christ like today? Do you know how He sees you? And, how these two things are related?

In the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 16, Jesus poses the question, “But you do you say that I am?” While Christ was asking the disciples this question, it is one deserving of reflection in our prayer life.

How can our relationship with Christ, how we see Him, and our understanding of how He sees us help us better accompany others?

This audio retreat will explore our relationship with Christ, asking God how we sees us, and how our time praying with these two questions can help us magnify our life, improving how we live with and care for those living with dementia.

Gospel Reading Reflection

Matthew, Chapter 16: 14-20

Gospel of Matthew
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.

18 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.

19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.* Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

20 Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Messiah.
