Active in Ministry
WE long to Walk with you on your dementia Journey
Magnifying faith on this dementia journey through in-person and virtual means. As a Family, Parish, or Care Community, we offer a range of services seeking to accompany you, equipping you with the tools you need to live the dignity of the faith.
We, The Hem of Christ are dedicated to serving everyone living with dementia by meeting each person where they are at in their life’s journey with the disease. The work we do is not complex, instead rooted simply in willing the good of the other.
Our work’s foundation is based on personal experience and input from those living with dementia and care partners. Rooted in the Teachings of the Church, we remain true to those teachings while maintaining a sense of fluidity in how we answer the Call to serve those living with Dementia.
We can be found in parishes, active in our diocese, within our Catholic schools, and within faith organizations. It is here where we provide education, retreats, workshops, and cultivate community gatherings and connections.

A life on the dementia journey is not always kind to escaping to a retreat, but that should not stop us from entering into deep prayer and the exploration of our faith life.
Ministry
Establishment of Parish Ministry
Working with parishes to establish a dedicated ministry to serve and accompany parishioners living with dementia.
Education
Workshops and Keynote Addresses
Through our capstone training, Wealthy in Faith, keynote address, and lectures we help people of faith explore what it means to live a life with dementia.
Speaking for Parish Missions, events, education for lay ministers and parish staff, workshops for the parish community, and programs designed to support elder care organizations.
Dedicated training is also offered for parish leadership, lay ministers, and social services organizations.
Support Services
Arts and Faith, Community and Dementia.
Offering Arts Access, Memory Cafés, and Life Enrichment programming with a theme of our Catholic faith and spirituality. (Done in partnership with Dementia Letters Project)
Offering Arts and Health/Life Enrichment programs, Parish Ministry development, Spiritual Support Groups, Grief Support, ENDOW Small Groups, and Memory Cafés.

The Hem of Christ seeks to support artists who work to bring Christ to others through their work, and encourage artists to create a Christ-filled narrative of life with dementia. Working with both the professional and hobbits alike.
